We are

Boone county

Connecting donors and nonprofits from Advance to Zionsville, we are writing the story of our community – TOGETHER.

DOUBLE your impact with a dollar for dollar match on gifts to our Community Impact Fund, which awards grants that make a difference for our neighbors.

  • We need YOUR help to bring $1 million to Boone County!

Lilly Endowment has granted $1 million to the Community Foundation of Boone County and challenged our county to raise matching funds now through March 2016. Boone County, Meet your Match!

  • Over $80,000 in Fall Grants Awarded

CFBC is pleased to announce it has awarded over $80,000 to seven local nonprofits, including one large Boone Impact grant of $50,000.  “Our objective is to make more impactful granting within the communities and to bring more organizations with similar programming together to address the needs in our county,” says President and CEO of CFBC, Jen Pendleton. “In the future, we hope to fund more and more Boone Impact Grants—which are larger grants that will give agencies the resources they need to dream bigger and partner together to address the issues. Meeting our Million Dollar Campaign goal will put over $60,000 a year, every year back into the community.”

  • Congress passed the IRA Charitable Rollover into permanent law!

The charitable “tax extenders” are no longer “extenders” that must be reinstated each year, but have become a permanent part of our tax code. In a historic vote, Congress passed the IRA Charitable Rollover into permanent law, making it available to donors and charities for the foreseeable future.

Community foundations may immediately begin accepting IRA Charitable Rollover gifts from individuals age 70 ½ and up to $100,000 without incurring tax on the withdrawal. This benefit is available to all taxpayers regardless of whether they itemize their deductions.

The mission of the Community Foundation of Boone County is to unite people, organizations and philanthropy to create a thriving community for all.
