CFBC Awards $16,250 in Grants Community Foundation of Boone County

The Community Foundation of Boone County recently distributed $16,250 through grant making to support the activities of three local non-profit agencies.

The following grants were approved for the fall grant cycle:

• Sheridan Public Library, $2,250 to purchase a computer with internet access and software to support Marion Township residents of Boone County.
• Town of Jamestown volunteer fire department, $8,000 towards the purchase of a MSA thermal imaging camera which will give firefighters the ability to see in dark, smoke-filled environments.
• Jackson Township Historical Society, $6,000 for electrical upgrades and lighting for the Jamestown Press Building bringing them closer to opening the Jamestown Press Building museum to the public.

The Foundation’s grant program areas include education, youth, arts, cultural, health and human services, civic affairs, environment and recreation. Request proposals are reviewed quarterly with the next deadline being December 15, followed by March 15 and June 15 and September 15.
