The Community Foundation of Boone County has several committees of its Board which work to carry out the mission of the foundation. Membership on a committee is a prerequisite to serving on the foundation Board. The CFBC committee descriptions are listed below. Please contact Mike Caldwell if you are interested in serving as a volunteer on one of our committees.
Executive Committee
The CFBC Executive committee consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, immediate past President and the Chairman of each committee of the Board.
The committee has the authority of the Board of Directors to act upon all personnel, finance and emergency matters in the management of CFBC. The committee regularly reviews the investment performance and asset allocation and has the authority to act upon all matters concerning investment performance and asset allocation to ensure appropriate investment performance and full compliance with the Investment Policy.
Grants Committee
The CFBC Grants committee is a committee appointed by the Board of Directors for the purpose of facilitating the Board’s grant making responsibilities.
The Grants committee serves the Board by preparing and recommending proposal guidelines and deadlines for unrestricted grant making, recommending policies and procedural guidelines for grant making from donor advised, designated and field of interest funds.
Scholarships Committee
The CFBC Scholarship committee is a committee appointed by the Board of Directors for the purpose of facilitating the Board’s scholarship responsibilities.
The Scholarship committee provides oversight for the development and review of procedures and forms used in the scholarship selection process, conducts selection of scholarship recipients, and provides oversight to ensure effective publicity, communication, and disbursements of all CFBC scholarships.
Governance and Compliance Committee
Governance/Compliance is a standing committee of the Community Foundation of Boone County (CFBC) charged with the responsibility of ensuring that the dynamic performance of the Board of Directors — individually and as a cohesive unit — is effective and compliant with generally accepted ethical and operational standards and legal regulations.
The committee responsibilities are governance (leadership) and compliance, understanding CFBC mission and goals, and assuring CFBC compliance with Ethical and Operational Standards for Indiana Community Foundations.
Resource Development
The CFBC Resource Development committee is appointed by the Board of Directors. The committee’s purpose is to increase awareness of the Foundation by educating and informing the community about the Foundation’s history, activities and purpose. The target audiences include the general public, donors and potential donors and financial advisers. Through public relations efforts, the committee encourages financial support and raises the level of community understanding of the Foundation’s work, especially the role of endowments.
