The Community Foundation of Boone County is seeking nominations for the Lionel Dubay Sports Award.
This award was established in memory of Lionel Dubay who during his abbreviated lifetime was a vital, active parent and supporter of youth sports in Zionsville. The award was endowed through community donations to annually recognize and reward a coach, or active supporter, of youth sports in Zionsville.
The public may make nominations by writing a letter describing why your candidate deserves recognition. Describe what contributions your nominee has made to youth sports in Zionsville. Include your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address, if available.
Letters of nomination should be sent to the Community Foundation of Boone County at P.O. Box 92, Zionsville, IN 46077, by Fax to 317-873-0219 or by e-mail to . Nominations are due by December 31, 2007.
Nominees for the Lionel Dubay Award may be coaches, team moms, active supporters, etc.anyone who has made an ongoing commitment to youth sports. Candidates may represent any area of youth sports.
The award includes a plaque and a cash donation to the award winner's youth sports organization of choice. Presentation will be made at the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce dinner on January 25 at the Palomino Ball Room.
Past recipients have been: Leslie Sherman, Jade Marsh, Kay Mikesky, Bob Richmond, Budd Glassberg, Mark Stevens, Martha Randel and Phil Isenbarger.
