The Verlyn (Jay) and Dorothy Martin Vocational & Trade School Scholarship was recently established at the Community Foundation of Boone County. The Martins were long time residents of Jamestown and were both hard workers who owned and ran the Jamestown Hardware at one time. In their later years, they kept to themselves and were not known by many. Upon their passing, they wanted to leave a legacy to help students achieve in life through careers offered through vocational and trade programs.
This new scholarship is open to Boone County and Hendricks County residents who will graduate from Lebanon High School, Western Boone Jr. Sr. High School, Zionsville Community High School and Tri-West Hendricks High School. With the funds available, many students can receive some scholarship help.
The complete criteria and application for the scholarship can be found on the Scholarship area of Community Foundation of Boone County's web site and in the guidance department offices.
The Community Foundation of Boone County continues its mission of providing pathways for connecting people who care with causes that matter for now and in the future.
