Pete Paddock Golf Outing in Second Year Community Foundation of Boone County

The second annual Charles "Pete" Paddock Golf Outing is planned for Saturday, September 22, 2007. Last year's inaugural event raised almost $12,000 for the Pete Paddock Scholarship Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of Boone County.

Mike Maguire will again chair the event, a long time friend and coworker of Paddock, who was a teacher and administrator in the Zionsville School Corporation for 38 years. He was an avid golfer, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He passed away in March of2005, and a memorial scholarship was established at the Community Foundation in 2006 which recognizes a student that has a positive spirit, strength of character, integrity, great attitude, exceptional work ethic, community involvement and good sportsmanship.

Similar to last year, there will be two shotgun starts, a morning flight at 8:00 a.m., and an afternoon flight at 2:00 p.m. Space will be limited to 18 teams per flight. Cost for the event is $50 per golfer, which coversyour cart, lunch, and awards. There will also be a $10,000 hole-in-one contest. The deadline for entry is September 7. Hole and tee sponsorship opportunities are available for $100, and cash donations are accepted as well.
