Background

Established By: Jim and Christina Bush are life-time residents of Harrison Township in Boone County. They have established this scholarship in memory of their son, James Ronald Bush, local area farmer and 1970 graduate of Granville Wells. It is their goal to provide financial assistance to a Western Boone senior who plans to further their education in any field.

Residency: Western Boone School District in Boone County
Diploma: Western Boone High School
Enrollment: Any higher education institution
Specialized Study: No
Special Characteristics: Must have been a 4-H member in Boone County
Special Preference: No
Financial Need: No
Minimum GPA: Have and maintain at least a "C" average
Written Essay: Yes (see specifics below)
References: Yes - 2 (see specifics below)
Finalist Interview: Yes - by the Western Boone Education Foundation Scholarship Committee and possibly Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bush.

  5. Type written essay
Essay to Include: The essay must be type written and one page in length. The topic of the essay: How has 4-H provided me direction toward my future?
