Background

Established By: Earl Hoock was a long time Physics and Mathematics teacher at Thorntown and Western Boone High Schools. He also drove a school bus for the Western Boone School District for many years. It is the family's goal to provide financial assistance to a deserving Western Boone senior who plans to further their education in the areas of science, mathematics or engineering.

Residency: Western Boone School District in Boone County
Diploma: Western Boone High School
Enrollment: Any public or private college or university accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools with a preference to Purdue University.
Specialized Study: Science, Mathematics or Engineering
Special Characteristics: No
Special Preference: No
Financial Need: Yes - Copy of FAFSA form
Minimum GPA: Have and maintain at least a “C” average
Written Essay: No
References: Yes - 2
Finalist Interview: No, unless the Scholarship Committee finds it necessary

  5. Copy of FAFSA form. (Financial information is reviewed confidentially by Foundation staff only, and is required to verify financial need)
