Background

Established By: Joseph K. Tyre and Charlotte Tyre, long time residents of Boone County.  With his photographic memory, Joe graduated from Lebanon High School in three years and went on to graduate from Wabash College in 1934. He taught history and social studies at Lebanon High School and also owned a very successful insurance company.  Both Joe and Charlotte were very active volunteers within the community.

Residency: Boone County, Indiana
Diploma: Lebanon High School, Western Boone High School, and Zionsville Community High School
Enrollment: Only at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN
Specialized Study: No
Special Characteristics: Demonstrated leadership skills through involvement in extracurricular activities
Special Preference: No
Financial Need: Yes—Provide a completed College Cost Estimator and Boone County release form (PDF 388K) in a sealed envelope and return it to the guidance department.
Minimum GPA: “B” average during high school

Tuition & Fees: $4,000 per year for tuition and room & board
