Background

Established By: Family of Kent Poole. Kent was a 1982 graduate of Western Boone Jr/Sr High School.  While attending Western Boone, he was involved in tennis, basketball and baseball.  He was named Western Boone’s Senior Athlete.  Kent also coached basketball at Western Boone and Granville Wells.  It is the family’s goal to provide assistance to a deserving Western Boone senior athlete who plans to further their education in an accredited college or university.

Requirements / Selection Criteria

Residency: Western Boone School District in Boone County
Diploma: Western Boone High School
Enrollment: Any accredited public or private college or university. Must be accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
Specialized Study: No
Special Characteristics: Must have participated in high school sports displayed leadership and a positive attitude.
Special Preference: No
Financial Need: No
Minimum GPA: Have and maintain at least a "C" average
Written Essay: No

Finalist Interview: No, unless the Poole family finds it necessary.

Method: Check made payable directly to the higher education institution.  Recipient must provide Western Boone Education Foundation with the name and address of the institution.

  5. A list of sports that student has participated in during high school
