Background

Established By: The late Mildred and Pliny Randall, who farmed in northern Boone County near Thorntown. It offers two- and four-year renewable scholarships to students at four area high schools. The Community Foundation of Boone County is responsible for administering the scholarships that go to Western Boone High School students. A selection committee of five school staff members (at least one from each district schools), one parent, and one student chooses the recipients.

Renewable: Yes - for two, three, or four years (as long as full-time enrollment and "C" grade average is maintained)

Diploma: Western Boone High School
Enrollment: Any accredited* public or private college, university or technical school
*(Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.)

Financial Need: Yes—Provide a completed College Cost Estimator and Boone County release form (PDF 388K) in a sealed envelope and return it to the guidance department.
Minimum GPA: Maintain at least a "C" average
