Established By: Family and friends of Bob Wise. Bob was a band and choral director at Speedway High School for 33 years and dedicated his life to mentoring youth through his love of music, people and God.

  1. Member of the SHS Music Program for at least 2 years.
  2. Exhibit qualities of scholarship, leadership, hard work and responsibility in pursuing/developing musicianship
Special Preference: Planning to major in music in college.

  4. Essay

Note: Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Essay to Include:
  1. Essay that tells how your experience in music has contributed to your personal growth and will help you in the future.
  2. Format: Typed, double spaced
  3. Minimum Length: One page
    Maximum Length: Two page
Selection By: Committee composition (members of the committee cannot have a child in contention for the scholarship) & approved by the Board of Trustees of the Community Foundation of Boone County
  • 1 faculty member of the SHS music department
  • 1 SHS administrator picked by the principal
  • 1 community representative picked by the other members of the committee
