Lionel Dubay was an active member of the Little League and Youth Soccer Association, and was instrumental in starting pee-wee football in Zionsville. He was enthusiastically devoted to making youth sports fun and worthwhile for the kids until his life was tragically cut short by a car accident in 1985. A fund at the Community Foundation was established in order to improve and enhance amateur sports in Zionsville, in perpetuity. The award, presented this year to Mike Garrett, is made from the fund to honor Lionel’s memory and recognize an active supporter of Zionsville youth sports.
