Frandsens Named Philanthropists of the Year Community Foundation of Boone County

The Community Foundation of Boone County's "Aaron Stookey Spirit of Philanthropy" Award was presented Monday night to Kent and Charlotte Frandsen of Lebanon, during the Boone County Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet held at the Ramada Inn in Lebanon.

This award is given annually to honor an individual or organization for their lifetime commitment to local charities and people in need, setting a positive example for others by their leadership, volunteerism, and financial support.

Kent and Charlotte are the first husband and wife team to receive this honor. They have provided service to the greater Lebanon community and the Boone County area. Kent has been on numerous boards ranging from Boone County Economic Development, the Community Foundation of Boone County, United Way, Ulen Country Club and the list goes on and on. Charlotte too has been extremely involved in her community. The Boone County Symphony at Sunset Board, Zonta Club, 4-H leader, and Psi Iota Xi are only a few of the groups she has been a part of. Between the two of them they have been involved in over 29 different significant organizations.

The Spirit of Philanthropy award has been given annually since 1995 as part of The Community Foundation's mission to promote philanthropy in Boone County. The award included a commemorative plaque for Kent and Charlotte, as well as their names on a continual plaque to be displayed at the Community Foundation of Boone County's office, and a nominal cash award to be made in their names to their charity of choice.
