The Community Impact Fund (CIF) is the Community Foundation of Boone County’s largest unrestricted endowment pool of dollars and can be used for various projects, programs and initiatives that improve the quality of life in Boone County.
Community Impact Fund dollars are used for our twice-a-year competitive grants cycle for nonprofits serving Boone County residents. This fund also helps to support the Community Foundation’s work itself, community projects and is flexible, to change as the county needs change from year to year. Community Impact Funds are sometimes awarded in conjunction with our other unrestricted funds and field of interest funds so we can make bigger grants to give nonprofits even greater capacity.
The following grants were made from the Community Impact Fund or a combination funds through our competitive grant cycle in 2015:
Boone County Literacy Initiative
To provide support for a Boone County Literacy Coalition
First Presbyterian Church
For foundation work and surfacing of green space for a park located next to church and on the downtown Lebanon square
Just Win, Ruby!
Winners of the 2014 Facebook Grant Contest
Lebanon Kiwanis Club
To support the Boone County Kiwanis Youth Global Leadership Academy for high school youth at the 3 Boone County high schools
To support emergency assistance programming
Boone County Mentoring Partnership
Provide mentoring programs and opportunities to youth in Boone County
Boone County Cancer Society
Partner with Witham Health Services to offer support and programs to cancer patients and their caregivers.
Hoosiers Feeding The Hungry
Provide processing and meat donations to nonprofits in Boone County.
The Cabin Counseling Center
Provide Adventure Therapy opportunities to middle school aged boys in Boone County.
Aspire Indiana, Inc.
To support job opportunities and career programming to adults living in Boone County who have significant mental or physical barriers to employment.
Girls on the Run
Expand services into Boone County by “adopting” five Girls on the Run teams (two from Western Boone School Corporation and three from Lebanon School Corporation) during the spring 2016 season.
