In September of 2007, The Humane Society for Boone County was organized by the citizens of Boone County to continue the task of animal rescue for homeless domestic animals. Public awareness and fundraising to build or purchase a modern adoption shelter and clinic – Operation Shelter – as well as rescue and adoption are our primary missions.
