Post Graduate Scholarships

Allen F. Wharry Memorial Scholarship

For students who have completed at least one year of law school at the Robert H. McKinney School of Law at Indiana University, Indianapolis.

For students who have been accepted into an accredited medical school and who attended high school or have lived in either Boone or Tippecanoe County. The amount of the scholarship is valued at $10,000 per year renewable for up to four years. It is awarded from a fund established at the Community Foundation in memory of Dr. Otis C. and Blanche D. Higgins, and may be used at any medical school in the U.S. For 2022, please click here to access the CFBC scholarship application portal: .

Dates of importance for the Dr. Higgins Scholarship process:

  • The application opens May 12, 2022 and the due date is 11:59 pm on June 2, 2022.
  • All eligible applicants will interview as the second component of the application process. For 2022, the interview must occur on Friday, June 17 from 1-5 pm. The interview process cannot be rescheduled and is a required part of the process.
  • The interview will occur at Witham Memorial Hospital (2605 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon, IN 46052) in the Beck Conference Room within the main hospital building.

Current College Students


Applications for 2022 are now closed. Open to current college students who are majoring in Agriculture or an Agriculture related field and who’s permanent residency is in Boone County.


Non-Boone County High School Students


Applications for 2022 are now closed. In addition to students at LHS, WeBo and ZHS, students at Tri-West Hendricks County High School are eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship is for senior students who will enter an accredited vocational, trade or technical school.



Applications for 2022 are now closed. Applicant must attend a Tippecanoe County high school, reside in Tippecanoe County, pursue a major in agriculture, home economics (family and consumer sciences), or pre-medicine, and exhibit financial need.
